Watling Street – Medway, Kent

In a safe and homely environment, we offer young men with learning disabilities their next steps to independence. Our person-centred approach is the ideal way to offer empowerment and support to all users of our supported living services in Kent.

Watling Street is a supported living service based in Medway, Kent. We pride ourselves on working closely and collaboratively with not just health and social care professionals, but families too, in order to give our services users the most individualised support that we can.

At Watling Street, service users will be encouraged to gain new skills and build on the ones that they already have. They will have their own input into support plans, identifying personal goals and a step by step vision as to how they will achieve them. For anyone who uses this supported living service in Kent, they will enjoy a people-centric service, maintaining control over their lives and being able to live life to the full.

Watling Street provides a home from home environment, with each person holding an assured tenancy. Everyone is encouraged to personalise their own room with their personal belongings, and we actively support our service users in maintaining their shared environment. The home also has a large garden, and we enjoy growing our own fruit and veg. We are an active household with lots of hobbies and interests and like to be busy.

Personalised care to meet individual goals

As each service user is an individual, we ensure we take time to really get to know each person who lives in our Kent-based supported living. Through assessment, support planning and weekly meetings we are able to tailor the care and support to meet each individual’s needs. We have staff at the service 24 hours a day.

At Watling Street, we are able to support service users with tasks and goals including maintaining appearance, meal planning and cooking, budgeting and managing finances, meaningful activities and being an active member of the community, work and education, attending day services, and maintaining their relationships with family and friends.

Our staff team has a wide range of experience and expertise and our personal approach empowers individuals to be in the lead, have meaningful choice, and build and grow in confidence and ability.
