Lovat Walk – Kempston, Bedford

Lovat Walk, Kempston is a bright and modern semi-detached home that offers a bespoke supported living service to a young gentleman in his twenties, cared for on a 2:1 basis.

From the outset, the service user and his parents were actively involved in setting up the service at Lovat Walk, Kempston. The parents were also encouraged to take part in the interview process of the initial core team of staff including the manager.

When generating supported accommodation for young adults, we seek to create and maintain environments in which each client can live his or her life to its fullest potential. The renovation and decoration at Lovat Walk has been finished to a high standard and intentionally reflects the young gentleman's personality and taste as advocated for him by the family.

We believe that being within the community should be for all, and we therefore encourage our service user to be part of local community beyond the confines of Lovat Walk and our service. Where possible we actively encourage the gentleman to partake in local activities, including leisure within the surrounding area.

Living life to its fullest potential

Lovat Walk is just one example of our supported living services which cater to young adults. While each of our Protea homes may differ in appearance, all have a shared part in our own specialist practices and expertise. We seek to create a space that is safe, warm and welcoming, and will allow service users to develop at their own pace, according to their own specialist care plan and reaching towards goals that will enrich their lives to the fullest.

From daily household management, including chores and meal preparation, to managing budget and correspondence, our highly trained staff are here to guide service users in daily living skills as well as in their health and social care. We use individual assessment and continuous review to ensure that the service user is empowered to live as independently as possible.
